Julie Massacrier has joined the MSTB group for her Bachelor internship in collaboration with the SPMIR group and I2BC-Paris-Saclay to investigate how zinc is redistributed in plants during infection by phytopathogenic bacteria of the Dickeya genus. Using fluorescent zinc biosensors, whose emission varies with intracellular Zn levels, Julie will monitor zinc dynamics in real time by confocal microscopy in planta. Her project aim to uncover how zinc is mobilized within plant tissues during infection with Dickeya. This work will provide new insights into nutrient redistribution during plant–pathogen interactions and contribute to a better understanding of host responses to bacterial infection.
